Weekly news, good ones.

I came back from a week-end in the mountains to a wonderful message from telling me I won one of their great gifts for the Isn't it wonderful?! I am looking forward to see it in my mailbox! This is so exciting! I cheated a bit...not for the gift of course...

Happy New Year? Until now, that's not it!

What a beginning! Fighting a bad cold for already more than a week, we, as well as 1000 other families, had the bad news yesterday morning that the shop where my hubby is working will close shortly. Only 3 weeks ago they were hiring! Only last week employees...

It gave me a shock. It's the first time this season that it's so cold. I am not ready for this yet. Well, in a way, that means hibernating: staying home more often, cuddling under a quilt to watch tv, cooking wonderful soups and stews... not such a bad...

I did it!

And, I didn't fall once! Boy, I didn't remember ice was that slippery. It wasn't that bad, my legs were shaky, I was scared but I could hold on for 15 minutes the first time, about 10 laps. Then, the next day I did 45 minutes. Of course, I had to rest...

Buzy week but I knitted

Once I subscribed to a KAL... it was Candle Flame. I was rapidly overwhelmed by the speed of some and left far behind so I just forgot about it and ended up by ripping it all to use the yarn for something else. This time, we are only two in that KAL......

WHY, OH WHY?

I am not a good knitter. I know it. Knitting doesn't come naturally for me and I am really slow at it even though I learned 30 years ago and knitted on and off since then. Slow means that it took me 9 months to finally complete the Lacy Prairie Shawl...

Cooler temperature = time to knit

Cooler...well, 25C is cooler. I've been going thru all my patterns, bookmarks and web sites to find the next project. I NEEDED to start on a scarf and on a new pair of socks. The idea is to use up as much of my stash as I can to make space for new purchases....

No snow yet!

Have I been so buzy that I didn't post for almost 3 weeks? Looking back, I don't have much to report for such a long time. We are still waiting for some snow so it will look like Christmas is coming. Outside lights look so sad without that white stuff....
